Have you heard the news? Ed Baker is a great taste winner!

The results from the Great Taste Awards 2023 are in, and we couldn't be happier to announce that our talented trader Ed Baker has received a total of 9 stars for 5 of his outstanding bakes!

The Great Taste Awards are the most prestigious and recognised food and drink awards in both the UK and internationally. They were established by the Guild of Fine Food in 1994 and aim to recognise and celebrate exceptional food and drink products that demonstrate outstanding taste, quality, and craftsmanship. Each year, thousands of food and drink products from various producers around the world are blind-tasted and rigorously judged by a panel of expert judges, including chefs, food critics, restaurateurs, food writers, and other industry professionals. The judging process is conducted anonymously, ensuring that the products are evaluated solely on their taste, flavour, texture, and overall quality without any bias or preconceptions. The products are rated on a scale of one to three stars, with three stars being the highest accolade, signifying exceptional taste and quality. Earning even a single star in the Great Taste Awards is considered a significant achievement, while three stars are reserved for the very best products that have truly impressed the judges.

Ed’s White Sourdough undoubtedly stole the show, achieving the prestigious 3-star award - a true testament to its exceptional quality.

Other accolades include:

  • Wholemeal Sourdough ⭐️ ⭐️
  • Rum Baba ⭐️ ⭐️
  • Mushroom Quiche with White Wine and Cheddar ⭐️
  • Onion Quiche with Lancashire Cheese and Jalapeño ⭐️

This incredible achievement is a fantastic acknowledgement of Ed’s hard work, dedication, and commitment to using genuine ingredients to create #RealBread. We hope that you will all join us in congratulating Ed on his incredibly well deserved awards and recognition!
