NEW TRADER ALERT: Souvlaki Street
Founded in 2014 by Athenian Evi Peroulaki and Londoner Conor Mills, who bothleft the publishing world to follow a lifelong love of food, Souvlaki Street began as an experiment of passion and quickly became a full-time obsession.
It all started with a longing for their favourite meal, Souvlaki – which was noticeably absent from London’s Street food scene. Evi’s Greek heritage and Conor’s knowledge of London, coupled with the genuine curiosity of how this hugely popular Greek classic had not found greater appreciation in the capital, ensured that the pair were perfectly poised to break into the street food market and introduce Souvlaki to the city.
As an eco-conscious business, they strongly believe in supporting local farmers and businesses and use only free-range rare breed British old spot pork and locally reared chickens in their dishes.
After five years popping up at street food markets in all corners of the city, Souvlaki Street finally has its first permanent home at Pop Brixton, dedicated to bringing you the true taste of Greece 7 days a week but that doesn’t mean they've left their roots behind! You can still find Souvlaki Street in and around popular markets in London – including Catford Food Market!
You can expect a variety of delicious, skewered meats alongside veggie options, served in a warm handmade Greek pita with vine ripened tomatoes, red onion, fresh parsley, Cretan oregano and sweet paprika, topped with a generous helping of refreshing tzatziki.
Hungry yet? We certainly are!
